Czech Minifootball Association presented its candidacy a year and a half ago at a meeting of the European Minifootball Federation and its vision clearly surpassed other candidates. The General meeting of EMF at Prague Castle voted unanimously. "The event requires a certain budget and Czech Republic was able to secure such superior conditions to which the other candidates could not compete," said the president of the World Minifootball Federation and of the Czech Minifootball Association, Mr. Filip Juda.
The Championship will be attended by 24 European teams divided into six groups. A draw ceremony will be held on 29th of March in Brno. The tournament will take place on a pitch in Sportovní Street, which will be built on the former site of the hockey stadium near the Bobycentrum hotel. "I take organizing of the Championship as an acknowledgement to players in the Czech Republic, who gave me a mandate to the European and World federations. It will be a feast of minifootball and I am glad that it takes place in our country,” said Juda.
The final sequence of the eighth European Minifootball Championship will take place on the 17th June 2017. "For me it is an obligation to organize an event at an appropriate level and at the same time to add something extra. I would like to repay the trust of the members of the Federation who believe they had chosen the right man," said the head of the world minifootball.
